I have no doubt you’ve seen bullet journaling show up in all of your social media pages (Pinterest Board, anyone?). While I definitely want to make a blog about bullet journaling and how to start writing in one, I thought it would be best to give you a guide of bullet journaling supplies you need to start your new journey! We all make New Years resolutions but how often do we stick with them? I only started bullet journaling last year, but I have surprisingly stuck with it all year! Fun fact: I have never finished a journal ever but I’m just about done with my bullet journal!
1. Bullet Journal
Obviously when you’re going to start bullet journaling you need to buy a bullet journal, right? If you go on Amazon or Google and try to find a bullet journal, there’s thousands to choose from. I’m going to just list this one to keep it simple for you! It has 4.5 stars and almost 1800 reviews so it seems promising! I currently use Moleskin, but I will be switching to this brand once I run out of pages! It’s only 5.75 by 8.25 inches which is PERFECT for traveling. I bring my journal everywhere I go, but I also have a very large tote bag.
You can get this journal here for $24.99.
2. Fine Tip Pens
I wish I had bought these when I originally got my journal. I ended up going to Staples and getting a 5 pack of Sharpie Fine Pens. They are okay, but it’s only five colors and one is black. If you’re going to start journaling I SERIOUSLY recommend getting a pack of various colors. Something about all the different colors keeps me motivated to continue using my journal.
You can get this pack here for $10.99 which I think is on sale currently.
3. Washi Tape
This is absolutely NOT necessary to start journaling, but it’s a really cute accessory to have to make your journal look cute, which may keep you motivated to continue using it. I personally have not used these, but I have seen some really cute pages on Pinterest of other people’s journals and I’m super tempted to just buy this pack! It’s pretty cheap for the quantity you get!
You can get it here for $17.99!
Again, this is not necessary to start journaling but I seriously wish I had bought these earlier. I used to scroll through Pinterest and think “Is everyone an artist now?! Everyone can doodle perfectly?!” Now I have realized the truth. What is even real anymore? This is just another way to make your journal look neat, organized, and honestly just super cute. You’re going to have Instagram-worthy pages in no time!
Let’s keep our journals looking fun and colorful with STICKERS! I didn’t get stickers when I first started my journal, but I am absolutely going to be buying this pack! I love the look of colorful, happy journals and it just puts me in a positive mood. If you’re going to start bullet journaling, you don’t NEED this but I truly believe it will make you WANT to use your journal every day!
6. Index Tabs
TABS! Please get some, seriously. I started my journal with an Index on the first page, but now that I’m almost done, it’s SO difficult to keep track of what’s where. I have spent way too much time going through the pages to find something I didn’t add to my Index which now looks ridiculous. I started using tiny post-it notes as tabs to help me out, but I definitely recommend these tabs for you AND myself!
Last thing you need is a bag to put your pens and little accessories in! I currently use an old makeup bag that’s leopard print and totally not my style. I would LOVE this little donut bag! There’s also different patterns you can choose from, but really you could use any old bag you have.
You can get this cute little bag here for $6.99
Whether you’re just starting or you’ve been journaling for a while, I really believe these products would be perfect to get you going and keep you motivated to stay organized in the new year! Do you journal at all? Let me know in the comments!
